BEANS KOOTU

I always make Beans poriyal,  I was like why can't we try beans kootu for a change and searched for recipe and found this very simple and yummy recipe.  In my place they don't do beans kootu, only poriyal they make.  What is the difference is that,  poriyal is kind of dry and kootu s kind of semi solid. Here the Beans which is cut and cooked with dal. Adding few masala and serving hot. It will be too good with puli kuzhambhu.

Main Ingredients : Beans and Dal

Ingredients :


Beans - Cut 2 cups

Toor dal - 1 cup cooked

Paprika / Chili Powder - 1 tbsp

Turmeric powder - 1 tsp

Coconut - grated 1/2 cup

Salt - 1 tsp

Seasoning - 1 tbsp

Preparation :


  • Pressure cook Toor dal and keep it aside.
  • Wash the beans and cut it.
  • In a pan, add oil and then the seasoning.
  • Add the beans, cook by closing with a lid.
  • Now add the cooked Toor dal , chili powder and turmeric.
  • Add coconut and serve it hot.
Serve it hot with Chapathi or rice.
