JAANGRI
It is a sweet made of Deep frying Urad batter in circular shape, and soaked in Sugar syrup.

Ingredients :
Urad dal - 2 cups Soaked in water for 1 - 2 hours
Sugar - 2 cups
Water - 1 cup
Cardamom - 2
Food color - orange a pinch
Lemon juice - 1 tbsp
Oil to fry
Preparation :
- Grind the soaked Urad dal by adding little water. Grinding in Food processor or Grinder is fine. Not in Mixie
- Then Heat the oil.
- In another pan you can make sugar syrup till you get a string consistency. Add cardamom, color to the syrup. At the end you can add 1 tbsp of lemon juice, so that it wont turn to crystals.
- Then when the oil is hot enough, Take a Ziplock cover and make a hole. Drop the batter into the cover and start making jangri.
- For checking the consistency, you can try in a plate. If you find more water, add little rice flour.
- Deep fry it and put them inside the sugar syrup and take out in 2 to 3 mins. You can use a rod to take them out. So u need not waste more syrup.
Serve it hot or cool it and then serve. Garnish with little saffron.
