SEMOLINA (RAVAI) KICHADI

This is one of the easiest recipe for Break fast or dinner. It is similar to upma. It has nuts , veggies spices, lot more.

Main Ingredient : Ravai

Ingredients :

Ravai - 2 cups (roasted)

Tomato - 1 chopped

Green chilli - 10

Garlic - chopped 2 tbsp

Ginger - chopped 2 tbsp

Capsicum - chopped 1/2 cup

Carrots - diced 1/2 cup

Potato - diced 1/2 cup

Peanut - 1/2 cup

Cashew nut - 1/2 cup

Curry leaves - few

Turmeric - 2 tbsp

Cilantro and mint - little

Mustard and urud dal for seasoning - 1 tbsp

Sesame oil - 5 tbsp

Butter - 2 tbsp

Salt to taste

Preparation :

  • Heat the pan, add oil add all seasonings and curry leaves.
  • Add Ginger, garlic, green chilli saute well
  • Add tomato, peanut, cashew nut fry until it is fried
  • Add all vegetables, turmeric.

  • Then the cilantro and mint to the pan.
  • Add 2 cups of water to the pan. Let it boil for a while. Add salt now.

  • When all the veggies are cooked, add ravai to the pan slowly, keep stirring.
  • Then If needed add water and cook.
  • Add little butter in the top while serving.
Serve it hot with chutney, if needed.
