Semiya Payasam with milk

PAYASAM (Milk Porridge)

Paal payasam is made with Semiya(vermicelli) and Jav arisi(tapioca). It is a very famous recipe in India. It can be made with Rice too.

Main Ingredient : Milk, Semiya and Jav arisi

Ingredients :

Semiya - 1/2 cup

Jav arisi - 1/2 cup

Milk - 1/2 cup

Sugar - 1 cup

Cardamom - 2

Cashew nut - 1/4 cup

Ghee - 3 tbsp

Preparation :

  • Heat the pan , add ghee - fry the cashew and semiya separately. Keep aside.
  • Add the jav arisi in hot water, for atleast 1/2 hour.
  • Add water to the pan, heat it in medium. Add cardamom. Let it boil.
  • Then add the semiya and the soaked jav arisi to it. Let it cook for few mins.
  • When it is cooked add sugar and Milk to the pan.
  • Add the cashew that was fried before to the payasam.
Serve it hot or cold.
