VELLA CHEEDAI

It is a sweet with a crunchy feel. 

Cuisine : South Indian

Preparation time : 10 mins

Cooking time : 20 mins

Course : Sweet

Main Ingredients : Rice flour  & jaggery

Ingredients :

Rice flour - 2 cups

Urud dal flour - 2 tbsp

Grated coconut - 1 cup

Jaggery - 1 cup

Cardamom - 2

Oil to fry

Preparation :

  • In a kadai, add oil and heat it.
  • In a mixing bowl - add all the ingredients except jaggery
  • Boil water in a pan, and turn it off. Now add jaggery to it. Let it dissolve in water. Now filter it and little by little add to the flour to make a dough consistency
  • Now make small balls out of it and fry it. 
  • Caution : You have to drop in groups only then it wont burst. (Be safe)
  • When it turns brown take it.
Serve it when it cools.
