Chickpea Curry / Channa curry / Puttu kadalai

I first learned this recipe from a neighbor who was from Kerala, and she used to give me this kadalai(Chickpea curry) and puttu.I was really loving the taste and her mom once taught me how to make this and from that day i used to make this for the puttu. They call it kadalai, and it goes really well with dosa too. Very for ingredients but will taste really awesome.

Ingredients :
Black Chickpea - Overnight soaked and cooked 2 cups
Coconut - shredded 3 tbsp
Malli seed - 2 tbsp
Onion - chopped 1/2 cup
Red chili - 2
Salt to taste
Mustard and split black gram - 1 tsp
Curry leaves
Preparation :
- In a pan add little oil and Mustard and split black gram with curry leaves,when they start to crack, add the cooked chickpea with the water in it.
- Now in another pan, saute Coriander seed and onion, till the aroma is comes and then cool them aside for a while
- Now the coriander and the onion must be nice and coll so you can grind adding little coconut with water. Into a nice fine paste.
- Now pour them in the pan with chickpea. Cook well with little salt. Should not be boiling because you have added coconut, so you can leave it for a while and when it starts to boil turn the heat off.
- Yummy recipe ready
Serve it with puttu.
