BADHUSHA

A very mild sweet. It can be a wonderful recipe for any festival. And very simple to make.

Ingredients :

Maida - 2 cups

Butter + Oil - 1/2 cup

Sugar - 1 tsp

Baking soda - 1 tsp

Yogurt - 1 tbsp

Water as needed to make as a dough.

Oil to fry

For Sugar syrup :

Sugar - 1/2 cup

Water as req

Cardamom powder - 1 tsp

Lemon juice - 1 tsp

Preparation :

  • Mix all the wet ingredients in a bowl. Then start to sieve maida and baking soda.
  • Add sugar and start kneading with adding little water at a time. Make a nice dough.
  • Make into small balls and start to make shapes as u feel. Just a ball and a press is enough.
  • In between start making the sugar syrup with little water. U must get a string consistency. When u reach the consistency add a few drops of lemon juice. It will make the syrup not to turn in to crystals.
  • Now start frying the Badhusha in the oil and drain the oil and keep in a tissue
  • Now u can add fried one to the sugar syrup one by one and keep it aside.


  • Decorate it with some saffron.
  • You will get a fluffy and soft badhusha in minutes.
Serve it after cools down.
