December 15, 2014Quinoa Briyani
This is the first time i am making quinoa, all my friends used to try and i dont know why it took so long to even try. /but when i tried it was really awesome and tasted really good. I loved it and gonna try once a week. I bought this Quinoa in Sprouts, you can find in any local store. It will look like a small tiny white ball. More smaller than a mustard. And it cooks really fast and tastes good.

Cooked Soya chunks - hand full
Cashew - 5
Onion
Chili - 5
Turmeric - 1 tsp
Coriander powder - 1 tbsp
Red Chili powder- 1 tsp
Coriander powder - 1 tbsp
Red Chili powder- 1 tsp
Curry leaves
Salt to taste
Preparation :
- Wash the quinoa in a running water with a sieve. Because if you don't use a sieve, then the Quinoa will run away. So the sieve should be tiny enough to hold the Quinoa.
- Now take a Pan and add little oil, when it is hot enough add Mustard and Split black gram.
- Wen the mustard starts to crackle add the cashew, onions, chili.
- After it is nicely done add vegetables. Vegetables are your option, you can add anything that you add to the Normal rice briyani. It should be nicely cooked so it will be easy to cook with Quinoa. Quinoa takes only a very few minutes to cook. Hardly 15 mins. You can add the cooked soya chunks with the vegetables.
- Add some turmeric, all masalas ( Turmeric, coriander powder and red chili powder)
- Add curry leaves when it is done add quinoa and saute a little.
- Then add 4 cups of water or as instructed in the label.
- Close it with the lid and in intervals stir it gently.
- It will be ready in 10-15 mins.
Serve it hot
