OATS UPMA

Upma can be made with Ravai, Rice, Gothumai, Semolina. I tried all kinds of upma and wanted to try something different,  and then found this recipe.  Now a days all became so much conscious about health and switching to oats. So thought y not make an upma. And it tasted really good too. Health wise ya good but for kids it might be little difficult to chew. It s completely vegan,  because no milk or yogurt or cheese. So you can have it for breakfast or even dinner.  Really a good filler.

Cooking time : 20 mins

Course : Main

Main Ingredient : Old fashioned Oats 

Ingredients :

Oats - 2 cups

Green chili - 3 nos

Kayam a pinch

Peanuts - 1/2 cup

Channa dal - 1 tbsp

Mustard and urud dal - 1 tbsp

Curry leaves

Salt to taste

Preparation :

  • In a pan add the rolled oats and saute it.
  • When it turns little brown turn off the heat and keep the oats aside.
  • In a pan, Add oil - mustard, urud dal, curry leaves.
  • Now add peanuts and channa dal.
  • Add chili to it.
  • Now add the oats to it.
  • Then add hot water and let it boil.
  • Cook well. Add oil to get a nice consistency.
  • Add salt to taste.
Serve it hot.
