I still remember the cycle with a box covered with glass all around, with packets of palkova. And the cost was 5, 10 and 20 Rupees. The five rupees pack will be small and 20 rupees will be more big. So every time we buy palkova from the street vendor and eat. I still remember the taste. It will be super awesome. But the color will be little more white than we make in the house.
The special thing in this sweet is, it has only two ingredients. Nothing else is added to it. No nuts or Saffron or Ghee. Just Milk gives this kind of consistency and taste. The only thing in this recipe is the time, to reduce the milk it will take at least 1 hour. Because we cannot increase the heat to high or the milk will be burnt so we have to keep the flame in medium and cook the milk. You can store the Palkova in a airtight container for like a week in the refrigerator. It will be just awesome every time.

Ingredients :
Milk - 4 cups
Sugar - 1 cups
Preparation :
- In a heavy bottom pan, pour milk and keep the heat in low medium.
- Slowly keep stirring so it doesn't form lumps with milk skin.
- Keep the stirring in intervals till the milk reduces to 1 cup.
- Then to the rest of the milk add sugar, keep stirring and you can keep it for like 5 mins in the heat.
- Now turn off the heat.
- Let it cool down for few mins then you can serve it in a bowl.
- For four cups of milk you will get only one cup of palkova. So accordingly you can add milk next time.
