UPPU CHEDDAI

This snack is made for Krishna jeyanthi. Very popular in Tirunelveli.

Cuisine : South Indian

Preparation time : 15 mins

Cooking time : 10 mins

Course : Snack

Main Ingredients : Rice Flour & coconut

Ingredients :

Rice flour - 2 cups

Shredded coconut - 1/2 cup

Urud dal - 1/4 cup

Salt to taste

Oil to fry

Preparation :

  • In a pan pour oil to fry and heat it.
  • In a Mixing bowl, Add rice flour, Urud Flour, coconut and salt. (you can add butter - optional)
  • Mix well and by adding water little by little make a soft dough.
  • Out of the dough you can make small balls and Drop in the Hot oil and fry it.
  • Take it when the color changes.
  • Leave ti to cool
Serve it as a snack

Calories per serving : 50

Tips :

Drop in batches in to the oil.

You can buy urud flour or saute in a pan with out oil and make powder out of it.
