Laddu
It is a sweet popular in South India. It is made out of flour and formed into balls.

Cuisine : Indian

Preparation time : 15 mins

Cooking time : 40 mins

Course : Sweet

Main Ingredient : Besan flour

Ingredients :

Besan flour - 2 cups

Sugar - 2 cups

Cashew - 1/4 cup

Cloves - 10 nos

Cardamom - 2 nos

Oil to fry

Food color - orange if needed

Preparation :

  • Make a besan/ kadala mavu batter by adding enough water, let the batter be like a butter milk consistency.
  • In a pan add sugar and water (1/2 cup), heat it. Till you get a string like consistency, let it boil. ( adding food color is optional) Add cardamom.

  • Heat the pan with oil to fry the poondhi
  • You can take your poondhi karandi and pour the batter thru the it into the oil.
  • Don't fry it too crispy, take it when it is half done.

  • Put it into the sugar syrup.
  • You can add fried cashew, cloves to it.
  • After it is done, you can make it into balls to form laddu.
  • Do it when it is hot, so u can make good balls.
