DEEPAVALI STARTED!!!!!!!!!!!


RASGULLA

Rasgulla is a cheese based syrupy sweet dish. 

Cuisine : Indian

Preparation time : 10 mins

Cooking time : 20 mins

Course : Sweet

Main Ingredient : Milk

Ingredients :

Milk - 4 cups

Lemon juice - 2 tbsp with 1 tbsp water

Sugar - 1 & 1/2 cup

Water - 4 & 1/2 cup

Saffron 

Preparation

  • Boil milk in a heavy bottom pan, in low heat. Keep stirring occasionally.
  • When the milk starts boiling, reduce the heat and pour lemon juice to it. Little by little.
  • It will start to separate. You will get whey water and the cheese.
  • Then you have to filter the cheese in a cheese cloth. Hang it for few more mins to get all the water out.

  • Then start to knead the cheese very good for 10 mins or even more till you get the dough consistency.(kneading is very important)
  • Make into small balls as u want. A medium size will do.
  • In between, you have to boil water with sugar in a pressure cooker. 
  • Now drop the balls in to it and close the lid. Pressure cook for 7 -8 mins or till 1 whistle.
  • You can see the ball size doubled. Then it is done. Cool it and serve it cold.

 

Serve it cold with saffron on top.
