Badam Halwa, Almond sweet


BADAM HALWA

Badam/Almond halwa is one of my favorite sweets, I used to make it for very special occasions. It is a very healthy and  rich sweet. In India they used to make this for festivals.

Preparation Time : 1/2 hours

Cooking time : 2 hours

Course : Entree

Main Ingredient : Almond/Badam

Ingredients :


Almonds/Badam - 2 Cups

Sugar - 2 Cups

Milk - 1/2 cup

Saffron - 1/2 Tsp

Ghee - 1 Cup

Water - 1/2 cup

Preparation :


  • Soak Almond(Badam) in water for whole night
  • Peel the skin off



  • 2 hours before preparation, Soak saffron in milk .
  • Heat the pan, pour water add sugar, let it boil. You can Add food color too (optional).



  • Grind the peeled Almond with the soaked milk and saffron.
  • After u get a string like consistency with the sugar, add the ground paste to it.



  • Stir it well.
  • Start adding Ghee when the mixture doesn't stick to the pan.



  • Keep stirring, till it rolls well.
  • Pour Halwa to a greased pan.
  • Serve it hot or cold.
