Moong dal Pudding

PARUPU PAYASAM / MOONG DALPUDDING


Parupu payasam is made with Moong daal, it is usually made in many occasions, Easy and simple to do.

Main Ingredients : Moong dal, Jaggery.

Ingredients :


Moong dal - 2 cups

Jaggery - 1 cup

Cashew - 1/2 cup

Ghee - 5 Tbsp

Milk (Optional) - 1/2 cup

Coconut (Shredded) - 1/2 cup

Cardamom - 2

Preparation :


  • Pressure cook the Moong dal. It should be cooked well.
  • Then in a kadai, Add ghee and saute cashews and coconuts. Keep it aside.
  • Then add the cardamom. Now you can add cooked Moon dal to the pan. Add all the jaggery to it. It should be fully incorporated to the parupu.
  • Now it is time to add milk to it. Cook it for few mins
  • Now garnish with Cashews and coconut.
Serve it hot.
