PULIYODARAI

It is a very common preparation in South India. It is made with Tamarind.

Main Ingredient : Tamarind

Ingredients :

Tamarind Paste - 3 tbsp

Turmeric - 1 tsp

Red chili - 5 nos

Peanuts - 1/2 cup

Channa dal - 2 tbsp

Malli seeds - 2 tbsp

Jeera - 1 tsp

Curry leaves

Mustard and Urud dal - 1 tbsp

Sesame oil - 1/2 cup

Salt to taste

Preparation :

  • Heat the pan, Add channa dal, red chili, malli seed and jeera. Dry roast it.
  • Let it cool and make a powder out of it.
  • Then add oil and mustard , urud dal, curry leaves, kayam, red chili.
  • Then add Channa dal and peanuts to it.
  • Now add the tamarind paste with little water. Boil it with a tsp of turmeric.
  • Now add the ground powder to it. Let it blend well.
  • Add salt to taste. Lot of oil will give you a very nice yummy puliyodarai mix.

  • You can add rice to it and mix well.
Serve it hot with a papad
